Frequently Asked Questions

HAIR:

Q: Which color lines do the stylists use?
A: Each stylist is different, but the color lines which are used are Goldwell, Redken, Wella, Alfaparf, and Matrix.

Q: Do the stylists all have the same pricing?
A: All the stylists are independent contractors therefore make their own price lists, but the base prices are listed in the menu.

Q: What is a weave?
A: Highlights are also known as weaves. There are two types of weaving which also have different pricing. A Partial Weave is highlighting the top and sides of your hair, so that if you were to put it up in a pony tail bottom would be darker than the top. A Full Weave is highlighted all throughout your hair so that all of it is the same colors.

Q: Do you offer consultations?
A: Yes, all of our stylists will be happy to offer free consultations upon request.

Q: Does the salon provide any special offers?
A: There are normally some specials targeted to first time clients as well as other monthly specials offered which you can ask the receptionist when you call.

SKIN (Waxing):

Q: How long does the hair need to be to be waxed?
A: The hair's length must be at least 1/8 of an inch or approximately 3 weeks of growth to receive the maximum results. If the hair is longer than that it isn't a problem, but no trimming is necessary.

Q: How long do I have to wait between waxing appointments?
A: The hair will slowly start growing back after 2 weeks, but will not be entirely regrown for 4 weeks.

Q: Does waxing cause in-grown hairs?
A: Any hair removal can cause in grown hairs, but waxing minimizes this problem and we also offer a product to help prevent and treat any ingrown hair.

Q: Can you wax before going in the sun?
A: Yes, providing you use a sunscreen with a good SPF as the skin is a little more sensitive after waxing.

Q: Is there anyone who shouldn't get waxing done?
A:Waxing services are not recommended for clients using Retin-A, Accutane, or any Rx Exfoliants.

Q: How long does a Brazilian Bikini wax take?
A: Approximately 10 minutes.

Q: What can I do to help minimize the discomfort of waxing?
A: Using a "No scream" cream to numb the area or taking Advil prior to the appointment will minimize discomfort. Females tend to be more sensitive during their cycle, it is recommended to get waxed after it ends. We also utilize a wax for sensitive skin in our all over body waxing procedures.

Q: What kind of wax is used for the waxing appointments?
A: Epil Lyss Creme Wax for sensitive skin.
